Well, good morning!
Its been alittle while sense I've come around but, Iam thinking instead of a big catch up blog I'll just spend the next few days posting little blog-ettes to get things back in order.
So, late last night I finally got these wonky house blocks finished!
Theres six in total & they will be mailed out to a quilting buddy who has started a block swap.
I'll be getting mine & a few other lady's blocks back.
So there will be a nice collection of different blocks without the extra effort or fabric on my part. I'll be using them to make a quilted wall hanging.
I got these super sweet blocks from a on-line quilting buddy.
Her name is Joan & she is really talented as you can see.
These blocks are from the june/july block swap, the themes where flags & summer and she did a great job.
She also included some pretty trims & a set of magnets.
I'll be finishing up her blocks today, I just need to do the flag themed one.
I'll post pics of them then.
Stay tuned! :)

Where have I been?
Well, its been a few weeks sence my last post & I've achived very little in that time.
Iam still moving forward though, just very slowly.
I've gotten no where in my gardening. Which is depressing but sence Iam starting out with all new raised beds I had already assumed I probably wouldn't start planting until summer time.
Iam still back logged on my sewing projects, but Iam hoping once I get my Etsy page set up I can stop working one of my two jobs & thus have extra sewing time...Its just a matter of getting from point A to point B.
Today I did get some free time to put together a new item. It was actually a pretty quick project which was nice from my normal projects. :)

Its a heart shaped, lavander filled sachet made from an old quilt I dismantled a few weeks back for a different project. It smells awesome! I also decorated it with three vintage buttons. I think its pretty nice & will be making more to sell in weeks to come.
Iam also working on a set of "wonky house blocks" for a quilting swap.
It'll be a total of six blocks & when finished & swapped Iam going to use mine for a wall quilt.
Theres also mug mats to come, but Iam not sure how I like the pattern I created. I figure I've already cut the fabric so I'll make them & if they never sell then oh, well. Its all a learning expirance in the end.
I also still have a commissoned quilt to finish & thats supposed to be just for this week!
What day is this? Haha! Wednesday!
We'll just have to wait & see what I manage to pull off. :)

My off day...
So, alittle about myself.
Iam a bit of a work-a-holic and currently work two jobs. My day job is interior landscaping with is nice seeing as how I get to work with plants all day but never have to worry about sunburn or frezzing buns. My second job is waitressing which I do only three nights a week.
The end effect of my working life-style is I only get one day a week off therefore these days are vital to my self-growth and over all happiness.
Anyway, I set out today with the goal of buying a few crafting supplies, making a trip to the drug store and opening the checking account I mentioned yesterday.
So, I strapped on my new Merrell hiking boots & took a "urban hike" down to Wal-mart...Iam not a huge fan of Wal-mart, but its whats closest to my house and currently I don't own a car. So, whats a girl to do? The hike was about three miles and I really enjoyed it, even enjoyed my shopping trip, but saddly it took forever for the bus to take me home. I should of just walked back, but my bag was pretty heavy.
I never made it to the drug store or the bank. Which pretty much sucked, but there was coffee and cinnimon rolls at home. ;)
Later in the day I decieded to (FINALLY) get started on the garden bed kits I bought last month. I managed to put together two of them, but when I bought them I made the mistake of picking up one really easy to assemble dove tailed kit and three somewhat harder to put together kits. They also don't seem to be fitting in the space I assigned to them on the side of the house. Orginally I had garden beds in the back yard, but my beloved pitty kept running though them so it was sorta self-defeating to keep trying to work that area and the kits are alot cheaper than fencing...Doggy wins!
Heres a pic of my two new beds. Hopefully the other two will also fit in the space. Three of the beds are supposed to be interlocking...
Hopefully, I'll have this done by the end of the weekend...Even while working two jobs.
Iam still way behind on sewing. Iam aiming for two hours sewing time late tonight. I have everything I need to do my mug mats so theres no reason to keep sitting on that. My commissoned quilt also needs my time. My client isn't really concerned with how long it takes for me to finish, but my aim is the end of May.
In closing, I'll still be aiming to open that checking account soon and then my Etsy account. So, much to do and loving every minute.
XOXO, Fran.

Todays efforts.
Alright, this is the first time I've blogged in a long time so, Iam just trying to figure things out.
Iam home alone with my little man tonight. The DH having gone out of town for work.
Iam about to get up & make alittle dinner, then hopefully go sew for awhile...My to be sewed pile is growing quite large now!
Iam creating this blog to help promote an Etsy page I will opening soon...Hopefully tomorrow. Just need to go open a checking account to use for it so my Etsy profits don't instantly become bill money. Iam trying to save up for a car & in the bigger picture that dream farm in the middle of nowhere.
Lets see how easy it is to post a picture on this site...
Alright, over looking the general messy-ness of my boudoir this is a very tattered quilt that I dismantled & cut down using that heart shaped template next to the scissiors.
Iam currently working on turning a dozen of them into wall hangings with a bow made out of ribbons & beads with little silver bells attached to the ends. Perfect for your front door or really anywhere that need a little primative panache.
I'll share the finished product with you in the next few days...Though like I said, My to be sewed pile is quite large. I also have mug mats & a comissioned quilt in the works, but I should have the bulk of all these finished by the end of the month. *Fingers crossed!*
